Code of Conduct

This policy extends to all spaces associated with the Tech Alcathon 2024 hackathon hosted by Tech Alchemy, encompassing the following and their online equivalents (if any):HackathonsTalks, presentations, or demosWorkshopsSocial eventsSocial media channels, etc.This Code of Conduct applies equally to all participants and projects created during the hackathon.

No Plagiarism or Re-using of Past Work
We encourage participants to submit projects created exclusively during the hackathon. If a project includes reused code or is a resubmission from a prior hackathon, disclosure of the previous use and its extent is mandatory.Failure to disclose reused code may result in the organiser requesting the participant to identify similarities and differences between the old and new work. Non-compliance may lead to disqualification from winning awards.

No Discrimination
Tech Alchemy the organiser of Tech Alcathon 2024 is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and harassment-free environment for everyone. Discrimination based on gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political views, previous hackathon attendance or lack thereof, computing experience or lack thereof, chosen programming language or tech stack will not be tolerated.

No Harassment
Harassment in any form, including offensive comments, public display of sexual material, intimidation, stalking, disruption, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome advances, is strictly prohibited.

No Recording Without Consent
While photography and videography are encouraged, participants must be given a reasonable chance to opt out. It is inappropriate to take photographs in contexts where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Creation of a Safe Space
The use of sexualised images, activities, or material for any non-permitted purpose is prohibited. Sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes and anything that creates a sexualised environment are not allowed.

Intellectual Property
Participants own the developments they create, and all rights, titles, and interests, including intellectual property rights, belong to them. By posting submissions on Tech Alchemy platform, participants grant it as a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, distribute, display, and reproduce submissions to the extent required for platform services.

Always Report
Any violation of this Code of Conduct or suspicious behaviour should be reported immediately to a member of the hackathon organising committee.

Consequences of ViolationsI
In case of Code of Conduct violations, the organiser may, at their discretion:Expel participants from the hackathon with no refund (if applicable)Block access to Tech Alchemy resources, including the websiteReport behaviour to local law enforcement.
